Meet the big purple thumper! This paddle weighs just under three quarters of a kilogram and stands ready to provide a very heavy paddling to those in need. The purple colour is entirely natural.

The contrasting lines are Huon pine. They run all the way through the paddle and thus are visible on both sides and at the ends where the lines emerge.

The paddle is made from purpleheart with aluminium handle hole and details. It has a smooth clear oil finish to accentuate the purple colour.

Purpleheart is a naturally purple timber which grows in Central and South America. The name purpleheart is a trade name for 23 tree species whose timber shares a very similar visual appearance and physical properties. All 23 belong to the Peltogyne genus.  

This handcrafted paddle was created in Miss Emm's workshop in Sydney's inner west, where beautiful impact toys come to life.
