Not all paddles need look like "paddles"! This piece is one of a series of sword inspired paddles I created after being inspired by a close friend with a love and detailed knowledge of swords.

This paddle is long and wide but feels lighter than its 450 grams (1 pound) would suggest as the blade is gently tapered from 20mm thick at the handle to 10mm at the tip which keeps the centre of balance closer to the handle. The handle feels very secure in your hand without the need to grip it overly tightly. In terms of impact you'll get a firm whack without being too thuddy.

The handle holes and dot details near the blade on one side of the handle are all brass.
