Product Description

This is a big beasty of an impact toy. Its long tapered blade will provide a big stingy impact on the wide face and a much blunter thuddy one on the narrow edge. 

The shaft is made from rattan and the handle has been handcrafted from wenge with aluminium handle holes and details. The pane is finished in satin polyurethane varnish for an attractive and smooth surface and ease of cleaning.

Panes are made from a single large piece of rattan which is then shaved down to create a flat blade surface. The impact sensation they produce is somewhere between a paddle and a cane, hence the name. They don't have quite the intensity of a traditional cane, nor the thud of a wooden paddle. Panes have some flex in the blade shaft which varies with blade thickness. This flex helps convey the feeling of a cane to both the caner and canee.

Miss Emm came up with the flat cane concept way back in 2011 after being asked whether it was possible to create a cane that didn't feel as intense as a cane!

This handcrafted pane was created by Miss Emm in her workshop in Sydney's inner west, where the finest wooden kink toys come to life.
