This is a big heavy cane with plenty of character. The rattan has plenty of shape along its shaft, meaning it is not a perfect cylinder but has ridges in different positions on each internode (the bit between two nodes which can be seen as distinct marks along the shaft). The Tasmanian Blackwood handle almost blends in with the rattan to give the cane a very attractive and unusual appearance.

At approximately 17mm in diameter the cane shaft still has some flex so it'll feel like a cane but have a thuddier impact than a more conventionally sized cane.
